Getting a Kitchen Worktop Fitted in London Shouldn't Feel This Hard
You've chosen your kitchen. You know roughly what stone you want. But now you're stuck in a frustrating loop that most London homeowners know far too well:
- • You get a quote from a company that subcontracts the actual installation to someone you've never met.
- • You find a fitter who handles "all worktop types" — but has never worked with the specific stone you've chosen.
- • You're told a delivery date, then it slips. Then it slips again.
- • The seam between your worktop sections is visible. Wider than it should be. And no one takes responsibility.
You've invested thousands in your kitchen renovation — and the worktop doesn't look like the showroom sample promised.
These aren't rare complaints. They're the most common things London homeowners tell us when they reach out after a bad experience elsewhere.
The problem isn't stone. The problem is who's fitting it.
"Most worktop problems we fix aren't material failures — they're fitting failures. Gaps, poor seams, wrong templating. These happen when a general fitter takes on specialist stone work they're not equipped for."
— Moustafa, SY Stone Co-founder
Available weekdays, evenings, and weekends across all London boroughs.
Every Stone We Fit — Sourced, Fabricated, and Installed by Our Team
We work with four core stone types — and we know each one inside out. Not from a brochure. From hundreds of hours of templating, cutting, and fitting them in real London kitchens.
Quartz Kitchen Worktop Installation London
Quartz is our most requested material. Engineered to be non-porous, stain-resistant, and low maintenance — it's ideal for busy family kitchens and rental properties. We install Calacatta, Carrara, Taj Mahal, and contemporary finishes. Invisible seams. Island and waterfall installations. Undermount sinks. We've done them all.
Marble Kitchen Worktop Installation London
Marble is the statement material. No two slabs are identical. We've installed Carrara, Calacatta Gold, Arabescato, Statuario, and Silver Wave marble — and we give every client an honest conversation about care, sealing, and whether marble suits their lifestyle before we take a deposit. That honesty is something clients consistently mention in their reviews.
Granite Kitchen Worktop Installation London
Granite is heat-resistant, scratch-resistant, and unique in every slab. We source, fabricate, and install all granite in-house — including Absolute Black, which we've used in commercial bar installations requiring custom curved tops and multiple sink cut-outs.
Quartzite Kitchen Worktop Installation London
Quartzite — including Patagonia, Taj Mahal, and Mont Blanc — is the material specialists choose when a client wants the look of marble with greater durability. Patagonia Quartzite in particular requires specific expertise: its composite crystalline structure creates variable hardness zones that can crack under saw pressure if handled by a non-specialist. We've completed multiple Patagonia installations, including a full book-matched kitchen.
How Our Kitchen Worktop Installation Process Works — Step by Step
Quick answer: Our process runs from initial enquiry to completed installation in 5 clear stages. Most residential installations are completed within 5–7 days of templating.
Choose Your Material & Book a Free Survey
browse our project gallery or request sample viewings. We offer mobile showroom visits across London — our van carries material samples to your home so you can see colours in your actual kitchen light before committing. Book online, by phone, or via WhatsApp.
Upload Your Plans or Book a Free 3D Survey
Send us your cabinet layout and appliance locations, or we'll come out to survey the space in full 3D. We'll advise on slab sizing, joint placement, and edge profiles — all before any cost is committed.
Precision Templating at Your Property
We visit your kitchen with digital measuring equipment. Your hob and sink must be onsite at this stage. We template every run, island, and splashback to exact tolerances — this is the stage that determines the final fit. It cannot be rushed, and we don't rush it.
In-House CNC Fabrication
Your stone is cut, edged, profiled, and finished in our own workshop. CNC machinery ensures every dimension is exact. Sink cut-outs, hob cut-outs, drainer grooves, and radius curves are all completed in-house before a single piece reaches your home.
Installation, Reconnection & Aftercare
Our fitting team arrives, protects your space, removes your old worktops (if required), installs the new stone, bonds all seams, reconnects plumbing and electrics, and checks every surface before leaving. We provide aftercare advice for your specific material and leave the site clean.
Most quotes are returned within 24 hours. Templating appointments available within the week.
Why London Homeowners Choose SY Stone for Their Kitchen Worktops
1. You get specialist knowledge — not general building experience
When you book SY Stone, every person who works on your project — from the fitter who templates to the fabricator who cuts — works exclusively with stone worktops. Your worktop is not a module in a bigger job. It is the job.
2. You know exactly what you're getting — and what it will cost
No vague estimates. No materials-to-be-confirmed. We give written quotes broken down by element. We confirm the slab before cutting. We call if anything changes. Honest communication is the reason most of our clients arrive through referrals.
3. Your stone is fabricated in our own workshop — not outsourced
100% in-house fabrication means we control every dimension of quality. Our CNC machinery cuts to the tolerances stone demands. Our edge profiling is done by the same hands that will fit the finished slab. If something isn't right, we fix it before it ever reaches your kitchen.
4. The seams are invisible — or we don't consider the job done
Near-invisible joins are achievable only with the right equipment, the right adhesive chemistry, and the right experience. Our joins are precision-matched and colour-blended so the seam disappears into the stone's natural pattern. That's our standard — not an upgrade.
5. We work across all of London — and we come to you
We've fitted worktops in Hampstead, Chelsea, Kensington, Richmond, Wimbledon, Watford, Sutton, Guildford, and beyond. No job is too far within the M25. We offer evening and weekend appointments across London boroughs for clients who can't take time off work. see all London areas we cover
6. A workmanship warranty backs every installation
Every kitchen worktop we install comes with a workmanship warranty. If a seam fails, if a cut-out isn't perfectly aligned, if anything isn't right — we come back and we fix it. That's not a sales promise. It's the standard our name is built on.
No commitment. No pressure. Just an honest price for your specific kitchen.
Our onsite quotes are completely free and written. If our price doesn't work for you, there's no obligation whatsoever.

Our Services
About Our Expertise — Two Brothers, One Specialist Craft
SY Stone was founded by Moustafa and Ahmad — two brothers who decided early in their careers that being good at one thing was worth more than being average at many things.
Between them, they bring over 15 years of hands-on experience in stone worktop fabrication and installation. Moustafa leads every project from first enquiry to final installation. Ahmad runs the workshop — the CNC cutting, edge profiling, and precision jointing that makes every finished slab look the way it does.
They're not directors who visit occasionally. They're the people who show up to your job. Every quote we give, every slab we cut, every worktop we fit — it has both their names behind it.
What We've Learned from 30+ Installations Across London
We've installed worktops in listed buildings in Chelsea. We've fitted curved bar tops around structural columns in a West End commercial property. We've book-matched Patagonia Quartzite in Sussex — a stone so complex our client called her home insurer before we started cutting. These aren't theoretical scenarios for us. They're jobs on our portfolio page.
That experience means we've learned what goes wrong, and how to stop it. We've re-done work that a non-specialist left behind. We know what it takes to fix a visible seam, a misaligned sink cut-out, and a splashback that won't sit flat. And we know how to never create those problems in the first place.

EXCELLENT Based on 16 reviews Posted on Debby RaynesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. (It’s been over two months since writing this review….. I can honestly say I would HIGHLY recommend this company and their workmanship. They installed in December and it’s now February and I’m so in love with this stone.) I would shout from the rooftops and sing their praises all day long. I’ve been in-touch with them now for over 2 months. I was in touch with quite a few suppliers and fabricators local to me in Sussex and around the uk at the beginning. In time my relationship and trust grew stronger with this company. They could tell I was overwhelmed with it all and I was able to visit their fabrication company. Which was very much appreciated. It’s so scary as there are so many companies out there and it’s quite overwhelming in all honesty. I had no idea what I was doing. They guided me through from start to finish. They have good contacts with reliable stone suppliers. They have the patience of a saint. Good communication and very reassuring at times I needed it. They were honest with the stone selection I had decided on “Patagonia Quartzite” They were honest with me about the stone being fragile during cutting and installation. “Inconsistent Composition” While technically quartzite (hard), Patagonia has embedded granite/feldspar/other minerals, making it a composite with varying hardness, creating natural weak spots that can break under saw pressure. So it takes a real specialist to handle this kind of fabrication and I trusted their honesty. It meant everything to me as this stone is very very expensive. To the point I spoke to my insurance company to see if I would be covered under my home insurance also if anything were to go wrong. It’s taken them two Sundays to fit and my kitchen isn’t big. It’s taken careful planning and I wanted it book matched also, which took a good half day to measure up. Truly incredible journey shared with this company. I feel very blessed to meet some enthusiastic, specialists in their field of expertise. I can’t thank them enough. Trust and honesty is a BIG deal with me. From my personal experience don’t hesitate to choose this company. We are their last job before The Christmas holidays. It’s Sunday the 21st December 2025. They came out two Sundays in a row to accommodate my last minute plan, to insert lighting on the back of a splashback in one area. “My feature wall” On installation they have been thorough, given attention to detail and take so much pride in their work. I’ve just felt like they cared and what I thought about the end result was truly important to them. It mattered to them. They want the customer to be happy and will go over and beyond to make sure everything is completed to the best of their ability. Good communication through out. One very happy customer indeed. Thank you doesn’t seem enough for the appreciation and sheer joy I have for my Patagonia Quartzite Stone. Absolutely breathtaking and a dream come true. Thank you so very much for EVERYTHING…. I appreciate you and all your hard work. I would 100% choose this company again if I ever moved and need new worktops. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!! Frequently Asked Questions
Kitchen Worktop Installation in London
Yes. We offer free onsite templating and written quotes across all London boroughs and surrounding areas including Surrey, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. We visit your home or site, take measurements, and return a fully itemised written quote — usually within 24 hours. There's no obligation to proceed. Book your free onsite quote.
A typical residential kitchen worktop installation is completed in one day. From templating to finished installation, the full process takes 5–7 days for standard in-stock materials. More complex projects — such as book-matched stone, waterfall islands, or listed building installations — may require two visits. We'll give you a specific timeline at the quote stage based on your project scope.
For most busy family kitchens, quartz is the better practical choice. It's non-porous, stain-resistant, requires no sealing, and is easier to maintain over time. Granite is heat-resistant and extremely durable, with each slab being unique — ideal if you want natural character. The right choice depends on your lifestyle, cooking habits, and aesthetic. We advise every client honestly on this before any decision is made.
Marble is porous and will mark if unsealed or if spills are left on the surface. However, a properly sealed marble worktop in a kitchen used with care can look exceptional for decades. We always have an honest conversation with clients about marble before installation — including whether their specific lifestyle and usage pattern is suited to it. If marble isn't right for you, we'll say so.
Yes. Old worktop removal and responsible disposal is included as standard in our installation service. We protect your cabinets during removal and leave the site clear before fitting the new stone. There's no need to arrange separate disposal — we handle it entirely as part of the installation process.
Before our templating visit, your kitchen cabinets must be fully installed and levelled, and your hob and sink must be onsite. Before installation day, clear the worktop area and any items from nearby drawers or cupboards. We protect floors and adjacent surfaces on arrival. If you're unsure, we send a preparation checklist ahead of every visit. Read our guide on how to prepare for kitchen worktop installation.
Yes. Every kitchen worktop installation completed by SY Stone comes with a workmanship warranty. This covers all seams, joins, cut-outs, and fitting quality. If anything we've installed isn't right — a seam that opens, a cut-out that's misaligned — we return and fix it at no charge. We also provide care and maintenance advice for your specific material to help you protect your investment long-term.
In some cases, yes. Minor chips and surface damage to quartz and granite can often be repaired without replacement, depending on the severity and location. Burn marks and deep stains are more difficult but sometimes treatable. Contact us with photos of the damage and we'll advise on whether repair or replacement is the most cost-effective solution for your specific situation.
In most cases, we can arrange a templating appointment within 3–5 days of your quote being confirmed. We offer weekday, evening, and weekend appointments to fit around your schedule. Availability varies by area — contact us directly for the earliest available appointment in your London postcode. Peak renovation periods (spring and autumn) can book up quickly, so early enquiry is recommended.
Yes. We install stone worktops and bar tops in commercial properties including restaurants, hotels, and offices. Our commercial experience includes custom curved bar tops in Absolute Black Granite around structural columns in a West End property. Commercial installations are priced and planned individually — contact us with your project details for a tailored quote.
Costs vary significantly by material, kitchen size, and installation complexity. As a guide, quartz worktop installation in London typically ranges from £800–£3,500 for a standard kitchen, with premium natural stone (marble, quartzite) projects reaching £5,000+ for larger or complex layouts including islands. We provide free written quotes with itemised costings — there are no hidden fees. Check our Kitchen Worktop Cost Guide London.
We cover all London boroughs and the surrounding areas within approximately 30 miles of central London, including Surrey (Guildford, Esher, Cobham), Hertfordshire (Watford, St Albans, Radlett, Harpenden), and Buckinghamshire (Beaconsfield). We've completed projects in postcodes from N2 and NW3 to SW3, KT10, GU1, and OX2. See all London areas we cover.
