Getting a kitchen worktop fitted shouldn’t feel this hard.
- 01A company quotes you, then subcontracts the actual installation to someone you’ve never met.
- 02A fitter who handles “all worktop types,” but has never worked with the specific stone you’ve chosen.
- 03You’re told a delivery date. Then it slips. Then it slips again.
- 04The seam between your worktop sections is visible, wider than it should be, and no one takes responsibility.
Worktop specialists. Only.
Every measurement, every cut, every installation handled in-house by our own team, in our own CNC workshop. Not a module in a bigger job. The job itself.
The seams are invisible, or we don’t consider the job done.
Every stone we fit, sourced, fabricated and installed by our team
Four core materials, known inside out, from hundreds of hours templating, cutting, and fitting them in kitchens across England.
Quartz
Our most requested material. Non-porous, stain-resistant, low maintenance, ideal for busy family kitchens. Calacatta, Carrara, Taj Mahal and contemporary finishes, with invisible seams, island and waterfall installations.
Marble
The statement material. Carrara, Calacatta Gold, Arabescato, Statuario and Silver Wave, with an honest conversation about care and sealing before any deposit is taken.
Granite
Heat-resistant, scratch-resistant, unique in every slab. Including Absolute Black, used in commercial bar installations requiring custom curved tops and multiple sink cut-outs.
Quartzite
Patagonia, Taj Mahal and Mont Blanc, offering the look of marble with greater durability. We’ve completed multiple Patagonia installations, including a full book-matched kitchen.
Five steps. No surprises.
From initial enquiry to completed installation, every project follows a proven five-step process designed to deliver a perfect fit and premium finish.

Why homeowners across England choose SY Stone
Specialist knowledge, not general building
Everyone who works on your project, from the fitter who templates to the fabricator who cuts, works exclusively with stone. Your worktop is not a module in a bigger job. It is the job.
You know exactly what you’re getting, and the cost
No vague estimates, no materials-to-be-confirmed. Written quotes broken down by element. We confirm the slab before cutting, and call if anything changes.
Fabricated in our own workshop, not outsourced
100% in-house fabrication means we control every dimension of quality. Our CNC machinery, our edge profiling, the same hands that fit the finished slab.
Invisible seams are the standard
Precision-matched, colour-blended joins that disappear into the stone’s natural pattern, achievable only with the right equipment and experience. Never an upgrade.
Wherever you are, we come to you
London, the Home Counties, and beyond. Evening and weekend appointments available. See all areas we cover
A workmanship warranty on every job
If a seam fails or a cut-out isn’t aligned, we come back and fix it, at no charge. That’s the standard our name is built on.
Kitchen worktop installation, answered
Yes. We offer free onsite templating and written quotes across London, the Home Counties, and beyond. We visit, take measurements, and return a fully itemised written quote, usually within 24 hours. No obligation to proceed.
A typical residential installation is completed in one day. For in-stock quartz, we install 3-4 working days after taking templates, and for granite, marble and quartzite 5-7 working days. More complex projects (book-matched stone, waterfall islands, listed buildings) may need two visits. We confirm a specific timeline at the quote stage.
For most busy family kitchens, quartz is the better practical choice. It’s non-porous, stain-resistant, and needs no sealing. Granite is heat-resistant and extremely durable, with unique character in every slab. We advise every client honestly before any decision.
Yes. Old worktop removal and responsible disposal is included as standard. We protect your cabinets during removal and leave the site clear before fitting the new stone.
Before templating, your cabinets must be installed and levelled, with your hob and sink onsite. Before installation day, clear the worktop area and nearby drawers. We send a preparation checklist ahead of every visit.
Yes. Every installation comes with a workmanship warranty covering all seams, joins, cut-outs, and fitting quality. If anything isn’t right, we return and fix it at no charge.
In some cases, yes. Minor chips and surface damage to quartz and granite can often be repaired without replacement. Send photos and we’ll advise on the most cost-effective solution.
Usually within 1-2 working days of getting in touch. We offer weekday, evening, and weekend appointments. Peak periods (spring and autumn) book up quickly, so early enquiry is recommended.
Yes. We install stone worktops and bar tops in restaurants, hotels, and offices, including custom curved bar tops in Absolute Black Granite around structural columns in a West End property. Priced individually.
Costs vary by material, kitchen size, and complexity. As a guide: quartz typically ranges £800-£3,500 for a standard kitchen, with premium natural stone reaching £5,000+ for larger or complex layouts. Free written quotes with itemised costings, no hidden fees.
